Modřany quieter than you’d expect
Modřany need no introduction. They are among the greenest parts of Prague with the cleanest air, yet you certainly won't feel like you're at the end of the world.
Everything – from shops to schools and restaurants – is within a few minutes' walk. This includes the tram, which will take you straight to Wenceslas Square in just half an hour.

Do you love cycling, running, or maybe skating? Beyond the paths, trails, and bike lanes in the local greenery, there’s a ton of sports facilities to choose from! There’s an athletics stadium, a swimming pool, and courts for everything from basketball to soccer, not to mention the playgrounds for kids.
Just a short distance from the river, you’ll also find unique spots like inline skating and BMX parks. And for dog owners, there’s even a dedicated dog park.

Do you associate forests only with walks and maybe mushroom picking? Kamýk has much more to offer.
Just head inside and visit one of the outdoor gyms, grab a gazebo on the edge of the woods, or take the kids along the nature trail to the Prague animal rescue center’s petting zoo, stopping to watch the ducks at the Borový reservoir along the way. Or, you know, go mushroom picking after all.

It’s no wonder this is a popular destination for Prague day-trippers, local dog walkers, and athletes alike. You can walk the nature trail in the pleasant shade of the trees and go birdwatching, head out for a run, or cycle through the ravine along the A21 bike path all the way to the Vltava River. Or, you can play soccer, handball, or basketball at the sports field on the western end of the ravine. And, of course, there’s a refreshment stand on-site.
